A Children’s Bedroom and Montessori Nursery

It is always a good idea to blend Montessori school with home. Continuing their education while in the comfort of home can give them a positive experience. If you don’t send your child to Montessori school you can still create their bedroom to be Montessori style so they can improve their learning and understanding. Dr. Montessori has a theory about this idea regarding living minimal and nature can go hand in hand. For example toys should always be manual toys so the child can focus and concentrate more. Shapes and textures are also important in learning. At the same time learning should be relaxed and fun. This helps your child learn all the basics of math and science using hands on and not memorization.

Make sure that your child’s room is open and has a bunch of room for them to play in; don’t over crowd it with furniture. Choose colors that go with the toys you have gotten. Most of the times you will want to go with a color that is a bit brighter.

You can also use pictures as part of their decor but do not display cartoon characters. Instead display natural photos. The same goes for stuffed animals, they must inspire nature. Block letters and numbers can be used to inspire your child to learn and they will automatically blend well with the rest of the decor.

You can inspire your child to learn even more when you purchase an area rug with letters and numbers on it. As long as you have minimal furniture in your child’s room he or she will spend more time on their rug and playing this way your child is learning while they are playing. This is a great way to introduce your child to the early reading and writing skills that they will be using the most as they get older. Colors in the rug can draw the decor together so it can flow evenly as well as protect your floor.

Another way to blend your decor is by creating artistic collages of letters and pictures. Begin selecting brightly colored pictures of animals. Arrange these in groups around the letter they start with. For example, hang a letter B on the wall and hang pictures of bears, birds, bees, and other animals whose names start with the letter B. This will be educational and enjoyable to look at.

Though it sounds a bit sparse this type of room will help out your child in their learning and the development of their skills over the years. Setting up the room for not only education but also fun will have your child staying busy all the time. Don’t worry they always come up with new toys that are made for education, and for all ages, so each year you should be able to add to the toy stock, and take out the ones you child will have outgrown.
