Norton Ghost 14 is a disk cloning software program. Designed to back up files and make complete copies of a hard disk, or hard drive, the program does so by making an image or copy of the drive. New program features include NTFS file partition support, ability to copy files offsite, and name drives and drive copies, early threat detection and warning system, feedback, help desk and support desk. Easier to use features that come with this version of Norton Ghost include extra support for Windows Vista, the ability to pick which files to backup, better integration with Google Desktop support, and more.

This program has minimum, system requirements that must be adhered to if you want to implement the product successfully. Some of these basic requirements include needing a 32-bit or 64-bit Windows Vista or XP operating system; however, if it operates on Vista, chances are that you have the hardware necessary for it to operate on Windows 7 as well, since Windows XP will be dropped this month.

Also needed is a minimum of 256 Mb, 512 Mb, 768 Mb or 1Gb of RAM, depending on which part of the Ghost program used, a CD ROM or DVD ROM drive and the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 program or later. In addition, depending on whether you have a 32-bit or 64-bit system determines how much space is needed on the hard disk. However, the program usually requires no less than 300 Mb of space for a 32-bit system and no less than 610 Mb for a 64-bit system.
