Pick of the Day: Furry Accessories
The last shows in London, Milan, Paris and New York said that this fall 2011 everything is about faux fur, plush and wool details. Collars, stoles, cuffs, hats, and neck ring scarves are in this group of chic timeless winter accessories that can immediately raise the glamour of your daily outfit. It seems that nearly every designer has one of these items on their collections this season, from Burberry to Emanuel Ungaro, Emporio Armani, Louis Vuitton, Marni. and Missoni.
A regular plain black dress can completely upgrade its simple design by adding a stole over the shoulders. This long and narrow piece of clothing can also be used to cover sleeves giving an instant stylish allure to any jumper, cashmere sweater, coat or jacket. A part from being trendy pieces, furry accessories are really useful warm garments to keep the body cosy while you pamper yourself with soft and fluffy sensations.
This season, the inherent decorative properties of faux furs are even stronger, as the latest trend brings them in shocking colours and vibrant dye-tones. Sportmax chose orange, Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen preferred light blue, Diane von Furstenberg went for emerald green, Sonia Rykiel stayed with a candy-pink, Vionnet selected a bloody red, and Gucci proposed an elegant magenta. A part from these psychedelic furs, as they were called by the fashion media, some labels presented their furry accessories in traditional browns or nude tones such as Valentino, Carven, Celine, and Miu Miu.
If you think the faux fur is too glam or classy for you to rock the frozen streets this winters, select a wool one. The best of them are made of sophisticate materials than can be a little expensive, but don’t think that they aren’t worth the money that they ask for: be sure that they will last for ever. Getting a traditional cashmere scarf you will be adding to your wardrobe a sort of accessory that never goes out of fashion. Wrap yourself in natural warm accessories.
