The latest news from Israel are that the authorities are ready to pass a law that allows the people to choose their religion. This step is a huge thing, especially for a country like Israel, where the people are pretty religious and they do not try to popularise their religion, like the others, because they consider Judaism special and unique and dedicated only to chosen people.
So, what are the consequences of this whole thing and what they mean for the people in Israel? Can we call this a huge step forward, or it is just the normal way the things should go. I personally didn’t see that coming, but after some more serious thinking, you will find out that such a change is not unexpected. After all, Israel is a democratic country, the people there travel a lot, around the world and they see how the things are going and what are the tendencies worldwide. So, some of them decided to change their religion or to become atheists. This of course is their right which nobody can take away.
What most of the Jews, think about this? Do they approve such actions or they consider them demoralising and as a whole bad for the country? You can find out the answers to these questions, if you call Israel and ask the people.
