Wedding Stationery Styles
There are many things that make up the look and feel of a wedding and there is a lot to consider when you go about creating your wedding design. One of the big aspects many people forget is the wedding stationery. This means things like the place names, the invitations and the menus etc and all of this is very important for creating a cohesive design and feel for the wedding. There are lots of styles and options to go for here though and choosing them can be quite a challenge, so here we will look at those options and how to pick the right ones for you.
There are many types of wedding styles and looks. Of course the most common color for wedding stationery is white. White is the chosen color for weddings as it symbolizes purity and has been used historically for many years. The bride’s dress is going to be white and so it makes sense for the stationery to be white also. At the same time it is also usually going to be a very flamboyant and frilly design for the wedding and you should make sure that you use acrylic writing or at least a font that looks somewhat hand made to create a kind of regal feeling and a classy feel. This also gives it a much more personal touch, whereas having it printed looks very formal and bland.
You will also often have imagery on your place names and on your invitations and cards and this can be flowers, animals, swirls, hearts or more. Whatever you choose you want to make sure that it is flamboyant and exciting as otherwise it can look a little bit bland. Sorry men – this is an occasion that has a very feminine feel to it so it is best to leave them to choose these aspects.
Of course you might not opt to go such a conventional route and you might be worried that your wedding stationery could end up making your guests feel a little sick at the thought of the newly married couple – your going for mutual love here not resentment. Thus if you’re a more modern couple then plain colors can also work well such as a move, a pink or even a red if it is used correctly – red of course being the color of love. Think pastels and you are normally quite safe. Another modern option is to go with a scenic photograph – such as of a river or a sunrise.
You might even have a themed wedding if there is something that both of you share as a passion or if you want to make your wedding different from all the others. Some newly weds for example enjoy getting their guests to wear wellies with their smart attire (more common than you’d think) so perhaps some wellingtons on the card would be fun. If you are going for a nautical theme meanwhile then some water could be nice too.
People use a much wider range of wedding stationery than they used to. There is all kinds of wedding invitations to suit different couples weddings.
