Bodhidharma Information
Bodhidharma (also known as Pu Tai Ta Mo in Sanskrit and Daruma Daishi in Japanese) was a Buddhist enlightened master who is credited with reviving Buddhism in China and founding martial arts. Bodhidharma began his life as a royal prince in Southern India in a family in 482 AD Sardilli the middle of his education and training to follow in the footsteps of his father as king, Bodhidharma encountered the Buddha’s teachings. He immediately saw the truth in the words of Lord Buddha and decided to withdraw its estimated position and legacy to study with renowned Buddhist teacher Prajnatara. Bodhidharma rapidly progressed in his Buddhist studies, and in time sent Prajnatara Bodhidharma in China, where Buddhism began to disappear, the introduction of the sect Sarvastivada Buddhist teachings to the Chinese. Bodhidharma came to China after a brutal trek over Tibet’s Himalayan Mountains surviving two extreme elements and treacherous bandits.
Upon arrival in China, the Emperor Wu Ti, called himself a devoted Buddhist audience with Bodhidharma. At their first meeting, Wu Ti asked Bodhidharma what merit he had achieved all his good deeds. Bodhidharma informed him that he had won at all. Bodhidharma was then unable to convince Wu Ti of the value of the lessons he had brought from India. Bodhidharma, then exit to Loyang, crossed the river on a piece Tse, and climbed Bear Ear Mountain Sung in the Cordillera, where the Shaolin Temple was located. He meditated in a small cave for nine years.
Bodhidharma, in the spirit of Mahayana, took pity on seeing the poor physical condition of the monks of Shaolin Temple. The monks had practiced meditation retreats in the long run, so spiritually strong but physically weak. He also noted that this method of meditation with the monks caused drowsiness. Compared with the young Shakyamuni, who almost died from practicing asceticism, he informed the monks taught their bodies and minds of the Buddha Dharma through a two-part program of meditation and physical training.
