Auto AC Compressor, what is it and how it works?

Most people need the AC compressor in their cars at some point during the year.  AC Compressor is necessary as it provides cool air circulation in a vehicle and provides comfort for passengers in the vehicle.  The AC Compressor is the central part to your vehicle’s AC and powers your AC System.  The AC Compressor is composed of both the AC Compressor body and the AC Compressor Clutch.

The AC Compressor body acts as a pump that moves air into your AC System.  The AC Compressor typically already comes with a minimal amount of oil and will then require additional oil to be used in the system so it can be circulated properly throughout the system.  The identification and use of the correct oil for your AC Compressor is a requirement for the AC Compressor to function properly.

The AC Compressor Clutch itself plays an integral role by engaging and disengaging the AC.  The AC Compressor Clutch is composed of several parts and is a delicate part that can be damaged if the AC Compressor is overcharged with refrigerant.

Although the AC Compressor and Clutch are the main components of the AC System, there are several other parts necessary for your AC System to function properly.   These parts include and are not limited to the AC Condenser, AC Drier, AC Evaporator, AC Expansion Device, AC Hoses, and much more.   After purchasing these parts, you will need to bring your AC Compressor work to a skilled mechanic so that your AC Compressor installation is done correctly and future part malfunction is avoided.
