Getting traffic to your website is no an easy task, there are many variables involved and with all the advice out their contredicting it’s self it makes your job harder when deciding which advice to take. When i first started out in internet marketing there were hundreds of different things that concerned me and the main one being “is this really going to work?” I mean i had been working on building links to my website for around one week and i was yet to see any improvement. when you first start out this is something that is always going to play on your mind. However the fact of the matter is that seo takes a long time and things dont just happen over night. I mean if you just stop and think about it for a secound you will realise why. Being at the top of a search engine for any specific term results in the most free organic traffic possible. When you are targetting terms such buying keywords the competition is usually going to be alot higher. The reason for this is that being at the top of google for just one keyword can sometimes be worth over 2000 pounds a month sometimes even 10 times that and so companies spend hundreds of thousands of pounds every year trying to dominate the search engine results.
When you begin your SEO plan you really need to think about a couple of things first.
1. How much time can you invest into this project?
2. How much money can you invest into this project?
3. What are you trying to achieve out of this project?
Once you can answer the questions above you will be able to start your plan. The first thing i would recommend doing is checking out the top 10 websites in google that are currently ranking for your keyword. For each one take notes about their website name, meta tags,keywords and number of backlinks. Once you have all the data from each of the websites you will be able to access your competition and see how much work is involved.
So now you need to begin your SEO plan and put it into action. The first thing i would start with is blog commenting. This is because it’s not only an easy way of getting backlinks but it’s also an easy way of building traffic.
1. You wan’t to find some blogs in your niche so that the traffic will be targetted. Remember that un-targetted traffic is basically worthless so don’t waste your time with it. To do this you will want to enter the following into Google: “powered by wordpress” + “your keyword” this will then bring up a list of results that are powered by wordpress and contain information about your niche.
