Algebraic expression: the base of Algebra
Algebra is an important part of mathematics. In algebra we deal with the written calculations that help us in solving lots of mathematical problems in a easy way. As all the things need practice like playing guitar, cooking different type of foods, playing any game, in similar way, algebra needs practice. Students, if you want to become master of any subject then you have to do lots and lots of practice. The learning capabilities of all the students are different and they learn different things at different pace. Few needs a bit more practice and few need less.
In algebra we use alphabets to represent the number and sometimes we use these alphabets to calculate the value of constants. Do you know what algebraic expressions are? As you all know algebra has its own pre-defined rules and conditions, we have to keep all the rules and regulations in our mind when we solve algebra problems. Algebraic expressions are combination of variables, constants, operations, and numbers. An algebraic expression is a mathematical phrase and it is commonly used in algebra. The arithmetic value of an algebraic expression depends on the values that are assigned to the literal numbers. Let’s have an example to see how we solve algebraic expressions.
3×2 – 3ay, is an expression and x = -2, a = 5 and y = 2, then on putting the values in the expression we have,
3×2 – 3ay = 2(-2)2 – 3(5) (2),
= 2(4) – 30,
= 8 – 30,
= – 22.
This is the way in which we simplify the algebraic expressions.
After this basic topic of mathematics, let’s move on 8th Grade Math. It is the last class of the middle school of the age group 12-13. In 8th Grade Math, students revise the topics that they learn in the pervious classes and learn the other higher level points of those topics with new topics. The course of the 8th Grade Math covers the topics like statistics, probability, real numbers, percentage, measurements, graphing and many other topics. The main motive of the 8th Grade Math is to develop responsibility and personal advocacy in students, to generate problem solving strategies, to abstract pre- algebraic thinking and with this they learn how to use different techniques in solving different algebra problems. The 8th Grade students can take online help to solve several algebra and other math problems.
