Renewable Energy: Solar Power Panels
Solar power panels provide many benefits both for the individual and for the planet as a whole. If you use solar power panels then this allows you to come off of the power grid and to start using energy that you have harvested yourself and that is completely renewable. Of course this first and foremost means that you are using energy that you don’t have to pay for and that means that your electricity bills will be significantly lower. It also means that you are now self sufficient and won’t need to rely on anyone else to provide your energy. If you should have a power cut in your area then that is a power cut that won’t affect you. Likewise no one can take your energy away for failure to pay bills. It will always be there.
For the environment it’s good though too. First of all it’s great because you are using renewable energy. This means that you are using energy that can be re-used and that will never run out. If you use coal or other fossil fuels as is the current norm then that means using a finite resource that is getting close to running dry. Of course when that resource does run out, it is going to leave us without many of the things we take for granted – as the majority of power stations around the world which provide the electricity for our TVs and lamps and everything else, are all powered by fossil fuels burned in a power plant, and cars and planes and many other devices use these fossil fuels too directly.
By using renewable energy such as solar power you are helping to reduce the amount that you take from that resource and this means that you contribute ever so slightly to its lasting longer – if everyone used solar power panels then we wouldn’t be heading towards this potential disaster. And if that disaster should occur in your life time but you have solar power panels installed in your home then this will mean that you are ready to survive the situation and won’t end up plunged into darkness.
The other problem with non-renewable energy is that it creates by-products. In the case of fossil fuels that’s carbon emissions (fossil fuels are made from carbon – compressed biological matter from trees and animals over thousands or millions of years). These carbon emissions enter our atmosphere and make it thicker and by now you probably know that this in turn means it traps more heat and causes the planet to get gradually hotter rather than cooling down – and this then leads to cumulative increases in heat that eventually may render our planet uninhabitable.
Using renewable energy such as solar power panels you have no such concern as there is no by product from the sun. It’s all around us, it’s completely renewable and it’s completely clean meaning that you can use it without paying anyone anything, without being reliant on someone else’s service and with a clean conscious.
