For a start, you could find a real bargain by avoiding dealers and many people are quite honest so it is not a foregone conclusion that you will be ripped off if you do not deal with a well-known company. Secondly, it may be that there is somebody just down the road who wishes to sell their vehicle and buying from them will undoubtedly be more convenient than having to drive around the country visiting dealers’ showrooms at the weekend.
On the other hand, the Internet has made it a lot easier to find out what models each dealer has in stock without even leaving your own home, so it should be possible to avoid making wasted journeys to garages in far-flung locations. It may also be easier to arrange finance with the help of a dealer, which is something that many people need when they are buying a cat, whether new or second hand. Personal feelings may come into it too as many people are not very keen on used vehicle salesmen, even though there are plenty of decent ones around.
