Advantages and Disadvantages of High Heels
Stiletto is Italian for high heel. Stiletto means a sharp dagger. To all ladies, high heels are sharp and sexy applicants to conquer the men. Meanwhile, they hurt their feet, knees, heads, and backs in return.
Why do we ladies love high heels so madly? When we wear them, our thighs and crura look slim and sexy, our breasts and bellies look more beautiful. Without them, we are less attractive.
We look more beautiful with high heels. However, they also ruin our health.
First, high heels hurt our feet directly. Professors say there are three points to support our weight when we are walking. One of them is in the back of our feet and the rest ones are at the head of our feet. When the heels are getting higher, the points for supporting our weight are moving forward. Gradually, two points of the sole left for supporting the whole weight. Finally, only one point left when the heels are over 8cm. Therefore, our feet are in pain. If we keep on wearing them when we feel painful, we may get foot arthritis.
Secondly, high heels hurt our knees. Professors from Harvard University point out that the stress in their knee caps will become stronger if they wear high heels all day. Besides, it increases frictions of our knee joints. When we are walking, our knee joints get asymmetrical pressure. At last, we may get knee arthritis.
Thirdly, high heels hurt our heads. When we are walking, we always get counterforce from the ground. As we mentioned above, there are three points to support us. When there is only one point left, counterforce from the ground may be transferred to the brain directly. It means our brain may get tired easily. Eventually, we get headache.
Finally, high heels hurt our back. Most people doubt that whether high heels cause backache. As a matter of fact, they do hurt our back badly. When we wear the them, our pelvis and gravity line move forward. Therefore, we must contract and keep our back backward. So, we get backache. If the bending of our lumbar vertebra is stronger, it may burden other arthritis and even hurt our nervous system.
