- Textured background using the GIF files must not be used on the websites as these make the reading of the text a difficult job. Background colors are the designer’s preference but recent research has shown that white and light yellow colored background is easier to read.
- Title of the website must be highly descriptive. The name of the website counts a lot in case of most search engines. It is advised to use keywords in the name so as to facilitate search by the engines.
- It is a good idea to include site map in the website design as this offers quick guide to the visitors and is useful in the search by the spiders of search engines.
- Using shortcuts is also advised as this makes it easy to induce changes and propagate the file. At least reduces the burden of uploading and making changes in every page of the website.
- Optimization of graphics is a necessity. JPEG and the GIF images are the most preferred online today. The size of the image should be kept small in order to reduce the wait period for the visitors; the deviation may only be exercised in case of photo galleries or product showcasing websites. With these minimal pointers the website design will truly flourish and create ripples in your promotion techniques.
