Pack the Right Punch!
Paper Punches have to be in the top 10 of all time office supplies inventions. The problem is you can never put your hand on a paper puncher when you really need one. So much so that we are thinking of inventing a hole punch with a security chain attached to it.
So a hole punch is a hole puncher I hear you say. Not really!…..There are lots of different types of paper punches in Ireland. You can have a single hole punch, a four hole puncher, heavy duty hole punches or a regular two hole punch.
The all differ in what the can do. Obviously we all know what a standard paper punch can do. It will generally punch up to 10 or 12 sheets of standard 80gsm paper. Some of the more reasonable paper punchers will not be as robust as some of the more pure metal paper punches.
A 4 hole paper punch is similar to the 2 hole paper punch, but it has a very specific function. It will punch four holes in order to fit into a ring binder or presentation binder with 4 rings, hence you need a four hole punch.
A single hole punch is a strange one. More common for punching leather, a one hole puncher can be used for punching paper that requires just a single hole punch in the top corner of the sheet. They are generally very reasonable and always handy to have in the office.
Heavy duty punches are extremely popular and one of the most common inquires for paper punches in Ireland. They range from inexpensive heavy duty hole punchers to more complicated paper perforators. A heavy duty hole punch will generally punch more than 12 pages and will actually go as high as 60 to 80 pages. It simply means that you don’t have to split your document as often as you can punch tonnes of sheets at the one time.
So now you have it. I hope you’re not asleep by now. Let’s face it, although one of the handiest inventions, you can’t say that hole punches are one of the most exciting.
