European Championships Preview
With the European Championships just around the corner international friendlies are fast coming and trainers of their testing equipment and training for the international tournament held in Ukraine and Poland.
MS is probably the most difficult tournament to win, with 16 of Europe’s best sides in the competition for the right to declare themselves as the first country on the continent. World Cup is certainly the major international competition, but with fewer teams competing in Europe and several teams from minor footballing nations attended it removes some of the quality of competition. EM has 16 teams that all have a real shot of taking home the prize as evidenced by Greece in 2004.
Favorites of the competition in Ukraine and Poland are the holders of Spain, who have proven their talent by winning the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2008. This talent boost the team throughout their squad to envy of their rivals and with talent coming through the ranks at the junior level, it is clear that they are able to dominate football for years to come. Players like David Silva and Cesc Fabregas have also shown that ply their trade away from the Liga, only went to improve their game and helped to develop the Spanish game.
England at Wembley proved that this is not always the best team coming out with the win and that is something that Spain will have to overcome in order to retain their European Championship. The victory of England showed that the sides are great Spanish is weak and seems to play. Fabio Capello was opened in his side note that all pre-match tactics trying to master the tactics of suicide and Spain showed where his team as England snatched a 1-0 win awesome Spanish side of the best ever.
Clearly not all is well in the Spanish camp, although Vicente del Bosque was quick to downplay any rifts with his team. The defeat against Italy and England in recent matches will not go down well in the Spanish media that serves their national side dominate proceedings. Advice paris still left Spain to retain their crown next year, but there are certainly some national sides feel they have the opportunity to break the Spanish domination in world football. If I had a free bet on who would win the million Euro, I’m back in Spain, but I would not be as confident as I was when Spain entered the 2008 championship.
