Standardize higher education to ensure excellence
According to Prof. Daniel Levy of theUniversityofNorth Carolina, effective regulatory frame work is necessary to ensure excellence and access to higher education. He represents a lecture on ‘Global private higher education, a comparative prospective onIndiaand public policy’.
He said Asian and Latin American countries were putting much stress on private higher education where as the USA and European Union were not giving much importance to that area.

“IndiaandChinaare giving prime emphasis to the nurturing of private higher education, but an effective regulatory frame work is lacking, and if this is addressed, the quality of education will improve,” Prof Levy said. The talk was organized by the director of the department of international relations at the university. Prof Raju Thadikkaran presided over the meeting and the discussion that followed in which many students participated.
