8,000 school teachers called for B.Ed admission counselling of Ignou

From 17 districts , as many as 8,000 school teachers in the state will attend the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) courses admission counseling of  the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) which start here on 7th Dec 2011.

The in-service teachers were selected for the interview process through an entrance test which was performed on 21st Aug 2011 this year. Under the Ignou Madurai Regional Centre (covering 17 districts) totally 11,000 teachers had emerged for the test. 8,000 teachers have called for an interview. “We will admit 7,000 candidates. They will be  joined to 70 B.Ed colleges / learner support centres. In first week of January 2012, the two courses starts,” Mr. M. Shanmugham, Regional Director, Ignou Madurai Regional Centre, Said on 17th Nov 2011.

“Admission counselling will be conducted at our Regional Centre campus in Sikkandarchavadi inMaduraifrom December 7 to 30 and proposal letters had been sent to qualified candidates. This region always evinced huge interest in our university’s B.Ed course,” Dr. Shanmugham said.
