What is the history of Morgan trailers
Morgan Corporation was introduced in 1952 and it is based in the U.S. It was founded by a man called Elton E. Mountz. He bought a tiny welding store in Morgan Town which is based in Pennsylvania. When Elton started the company he called it Mountz Welding. Its role was to repair residential and farm items. Six years later when he was challenged by heavy snowfall, which even tumbled down the roof of his shop, Elton decided to expand it. The facility was expanded up to the opening of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The new growth now encompassed the repair and renovation of any truck equipment and trailers. By 1960 the company’s name had changed to Morgan Trailer Mfg Co.
Its original activities were expanded again to incorporate the assembly, mounting and completion of the van body kits that were already fabricated. With the introduction of forty thousand square feet of working space, by 1970, the company completed a major expansion activity. Around the same time, the organization was able to make a lightweight, sturdy truck body without a kit using the Morgan brand. This truck body silhouette was embraced by many across the country and so the company had to manufacture many more. In nineteen seventy-five, Morgan Trailer Mfg Co bought Janesville facility found in Wisconsin. Eighteen years later, it was able to acquire another huge plant measuring seventy-eight thousand square feet in Ephrata, Pennsylvania.
In nineteen eighty, it made very significant developments at the initial Morgantown properties and in nineteen eighty-one it changed its name to Morgan Corporation. It uses this name until now. The organization development kept on increasing and its product lines became more diversified. By 1983 it had launched a brand new manufacturing firm in Rydal Georgia and three years later it opened two more regional manufacturing plants. These were based in Corsicana in Texas and Ehrenberg in Arizona. In addition, Morgan Corporation introduced a new factory sales service department in Fontana California in the same year. One year later, the corporation introduced the infamous Morgan Gold Star Van body line. By January 1990, Elton Mountz retired and the ownership of the company changed hands and now was transferred to J.B.Poindexter&Co.
This is an investment group with main offices in Houston, Texas. Under the new management, the company launched a new sales branch in Tampa (Florida) as well as other production sites in LakeLand in the same state, Riverside, Denver and Atlanta. Now the company is recognized as the biggest manufacturer of dry freight van bodies (class 3 to class 7) and refrigerated truck bodies. It is also a renowned top company in the construction of curtain sided trailers, moving van bodies, platform truck bodies and cut a way van bodies. Since Morgan’s production plants are ISO 9001:2000 approved, it has gained trust in many places in the country. Its greatest strengths are the production of high quality products, its high quality customer service and diversified locations. It is associated with matchless manufacturing standards and you can believe in it too.
