Ballpoint Pens – Here to Stay!
One of the true joys of living in the twenty-first century is that of not having to dip a sharp, potentially fatal implement into large vats of sticky, staining substance. Obviously, this is an article regarding the wonders and beauties of the ballpoint pen. Whether it be jotting down an ill-advised phone number on a napkin, grading test papers, or signing an affidavit, the ballpoint pen is quintessential in every facet of life.
The ball point pen generally falls into one of two categories, which are then further subdivided. The first is the stick pen, an old standby. With a cap and a body containing ink, these sleek, simple writing implements are fast, effective, and user friendly. The cap keeps ink from leaking onto the user and, in a pinch, can be used as a tie clip to make any suit a bit classier. The pen’s body can be used in lieu of chopsticks, as a place marker in a book, or simply to write things down. Stick pens come in several colors and textures, ensuring that, though it may be traditional, the stick pen is certainly not boring.
The second, more innovative genre of ballpoint pen is the retractable pen. This is the type of pen that makes a satisfying clicking sound and will retract and detract endlessly until someone disassembles the pen and takes out the tiny spring for unknown reasons. The button at the top ensures easy open and shut options on the pen, and can also be used to drive someone slowly insane or to communicate in Morse code. Like its predecessor the stick pen, the retractable ballpoint pen is also perfect for writing things down with.
There is a third party, the rollerball pen, an amalgam of the stick and retractable pens that combines the best parts of both. With gelatinous ink and a thin tip, rollerball pens are the perfect accessories at any business function.
Whichever ink or body type you prefer, there is no denying that the ballpoint pen is here and it is here to stay.#
