Interview Questions (and Answers) If You Were Fired From Your Last Job
When one is fired from his/her current job due to various reasons, he is assured to face one question in his next interview and thats ” why were you fried from your previous job?”. There are various things that one has to keep in mind while facing an interview after being fired from a job. The interview preparation for the same must be really good. Here are some sample interview questions and answers that deal with such a situation.
- Q1. Why were you fired from your previous job?
A1. Here is a sample answer, “I was fired due to change in the work type and work culture. I had a great boss and I learned a lot of things from him. However due to a new project that was taken by my company, there was a change in the work culture and the way things were handled.”
Initially I was given the authority to lead the team that was assigned the project but there was a difference of opinion between me and my boss.
I would say that we both were right in our own ways. So I thought to give up and left the job. I am here to find out new challenges in my professional life.”
When you are answering to such a question, never bad mouth your boss and be honest in replying.
Q2. Why did you leave your last job?
A2. This is a sample question; there could be other ways of asking the same thing.
Here is a sample answer, “I had a great job and a good boss but there was no scope for growth in my previous company. I want job where I can get an opportunity to use my talent and skills for the welfare of the company as well as for my own growth.”
You can also say, “My work place was far and I had to travel a lot everyday to reach my office. I use to get exhausted traveling so much distance, now I want job that is closer to where I stay.”
Q3. Tell us something about your previous job?
A3. A sample answer, “my previous job gave me a lot of opportunity to learn new things and showcase my talent. The work culture and my colleagues were really nice, but since I required a job where there are more growth opportunities so I left my last job.”
Q4. Who was your best boss and who was your worst boss? What you learned from each?
A4. To be honest every boss that I had so far in my career was good in their respective way. There were lots of things that I learned from each one of them. I cannot rank them on the bases of their abilities but each one of them taught me something different and fruitful.
