Points To Remember While Using Stained Concrete Method
Stained Concrete method should be used with proper and professional help, as this will make the interior as well as the exterior look good.
Nowadays, there are many ways to enhance the beauty of a home’s or office’s interior. Effective methods developed by humans in the line of construction have made many changes in the type of decor, which one has in homes these days. People from olden age try to beautify their houses with various methods such as through usage of stone in house. In the recent times, the utilization of concrete is increased. This has allowed the real estate developers to experiment with concrete. As the result, we have many new techniques and products at hand. One such technique is stained concrete. In this method, a solution of acid, inorganic salts and many other chemicals is poured over concrete, which gives exclusive colors and brightness to the concrete surface. The results always vary from surface to surface, as the minerals, which are present in concrete, are always not the same in entire facade of concrete.
The look will be anything between marble to earthy browns. This makes the surface more beautiful and gives a sophisticated look. This type of stained concrete method can be applied to exteriors also. This very concept of staining the concrete is very unusual, as who will think pouring a solution of acid over concrete will produce some marvelous colors and texture. The surface stained with acid solution covered with wax or some other material will not only give a glossy finish, but also the overall durability of concrete will increase. This method is very famous in either very cold or very hot regions due to the transportation cost of stone and other materials to such places.
As every technique has its pros, it has cons also. Stained concrete method is no different. There are few disadvantages, which need to be kept in mind. If the concrete surface, which needs to be treated is breaking into fragments, then the stones used in the concrete mixture will start to show up on surface. These stones may have crakes or might be broken into small pieces and if such a concrete is treated with chemicals, then the color will not show up at the surface. Another reason is that if the concrete is already treated with acid before, then the stones will not react, as the acid is being poured will have no use and only the color of concrete will change, but the color of stones used in concrete mixture will not change making the effect of no use.
