Laws and pepper spray

Decades ago the crime graph was very low, but now the graph is sky touching. People use to walk freely at any time of the day; they never were worried about the jewels or cash they are carrying or keeping at home. It was a time when they use to sleep with their houses door open. But unfortunately things have changed forget about sleeping carefree, even you can’t go jogging or for a walk to the closer areas. As the safety and security has almost zeroed down. So keeping in mind the security and safety of the people a non lethal weapon was born in the market.

Pepper Spray is the best self defense product which was launched few years back and whose usage brought sudden decline in the crime rate. It comes in many forms i.e pepper spray, pepper spray key chain etc. CS or 2-chlorobenzalmalononitrile is a chemical which was discovered by two Americans, Ben Carson and Roger Staughton in the year 1928. It was firstly used as tear gas for controlling the riots and mobs, to control them. But before you buy or use a pepper spray make sure that you are not breaking a law of your state for using pepper spray, else the use of pepper spray may turn up to be punishable for you.

Laws in United States differ from state to State. Out of 50 states Massachusetts has the most stringent regulations. The chemical is to be purchased from a licensed firearms dealer, having a proper Firearms Identification Card or License to Carry Firearms after obtaining.

When buying a pepper Spray in New York, New Jersey, and Washington state, a person must have proof of age. Most states only allow the sale of pepper gas to residents 18 and older. Washington allows the sale of it to people 14 or older, but anyone under 18 must have a legal guardian’s consent.

There is also a difference of concentration of OC in the pepper spray used in different states. In Wisconsin, for example, the maximum concentration of capsaicin allowed is 10 percent in a formula between 15 and 60 grams or a half to two ounce spray. New Jersey and California, limit sizes to three-quarters of an ounce for a chemical substance and 2.5 ounces total, respectively.

Camouflaging pepper spray is not allowed as it can cause accidents leading to extreme situations

Just see whether pepper spray is allowed in school or not, as every school has different rules, but if they don’t allow don’t worry because it’s the duty of the management to take care of your kid.

So carry self defense products with you anywhere you go. They are the best safety and security providers. And Pepper Spray is the most prevalent, easily accessible and hard to conceal defense product.
