The HP Designjet T1300 Series Plotter Printer
Graphic designers generate two-dimensional computer graphics that are designed using mathematical objects—such as lines, curves, shapes and points—on a computer and then printed on special printers. These large printers are plotters, though they are very different from the original plotters that existed before computers and printers were widely used. One of these plotters, the HP Designjet T1300, offers companies the ability to create and print these images more efficiently and with better results.
The T1300 model plotter features a touch-screen display where you can preview files before printing them. This printer is capable of receiving new files to print by attaching your computer to the printer via a USB port or inserting a thumb drive into the USB slot on the printer. The printer then reads the files and allows you to choose files through the touch-screen display.
Once you upload any graphics files to the printer, you can store them on the printer’s hard drive for future use. The T1300 printer provides you with 160 gigabytes of hard drive storage space with 32 gigabytes of virtual memory for your immediate jobs. This provides you with plenty of room for graphics of any size, from very small to large.
Because a plotter printer like the T1300 can print files of varying sizes, it is capable of accepting several types of papers. To accommodate larger images, the printer can hold up to two rolls of paper up to 44 inches wide. It reduces paper waste because the printer prints the images and cuts off the paper at the end of the image, whereas if you use sheets of paper, the image may bleed over onto a second page, wasting part of that page. For smaller images, the printer also accepts paper sheets.
The T1300 series of HP Designjet printers are capable of printing your graphics quickly and efficiently. Plain line drawings print at speeds up to 103 prints per hour or 28 seconds per page. If you need color images quickly, the printer can operate at speeds up to 41 square meters of image per hour. Better quality prints can print at a rate of only 3.1 square meters per hour.
As you use your T1300 series printer, there are parts that will need replacing as they wear out or run out. For instance, the printer requires six different ink cartridges: the typical cyan, magenta, and yellow, along with photo-quality black, matte black and gray cartridges. You will also need to replace the printer heads, though less frequently than the printer cartridges.
