AX50: A Superior Range of Rifles
“Action” is one of the terms in the glossary of rifles. Have you ever felt the need to know what an “action” is? Familiarity with this term helps gain expertise in moving the cartridge to the chamber from the storage location of rifles. For example, AX50 rifles from Accuracy International come with a good action. However, actions are of 4 basic types which are generally used in sporting and hunting rifles. The action types are lever action, bolt action, pump action and self-loading or autoloading action. In addition, single shot actions for rifles are of several types. The main types are falling back, break open, rolling back and trapdoor.
AX50 rifle is a choice of experts for its action type. The simplest of the action types in design is the bolt action receiver which allows loading of more than 1 cartridge to rifles at a time. Maintaining a bolt action receiver is easier to do, as the receiver consists of fewest moving parts. It is a most popular action type for being distinct and reliable.
Barrel length of rifles is an unavoidable consideration. It varies in a range of 18-26 inches. All rifle models do not come with all barrel lengths. A particular rifle model manufacturer offers a limited range of barrel lengths. Length and weight of rifles, speed of the bullet and stiffness of barrel vary with barrel lengths. 692mm or 27 inches is the barrel length of AX50 rifles. The barrel of these Accuracy International rifles is made of high grade stainless steel.
The more the barrel length, the more the barrel wiggles during the firing of the cartridge. It affects the intrinsic accuracy of the rifle barrel. Barrels of short length, though the diameter is the same as that of longer barrels, are more accurate in function. The difference is the least in case of hunting rifles. Rifles whose barrels are short in length are shorter and lighter than the similar rifles with long barrels. It is many times easier to carry shorter and lighter rifles on long hunting ventures. AX50 rifles are short in length and light in weight.
Carrying AX50 rifles, while going through difficult mountainous terrains, is no burdensome task at all. Severe recoil is the only disadvantageous feature of lighter rifles. Similarly, disadvantageous is muzzle blast. Muzzle blast and recoil are the things not to sniff at. These factors degrade the functional accuracy of rifles and decrease the pleasure of shooting. There are no such issues with AX50 rifles.
