The Benefits of a Bed and Breakfast
Throughout the years, We have journeyed to a great many places and seen a lot of things. I really like the thought of living as locals live whenever I visit another country or town, and that is why I make it a point to stay in a bed & breakfast if it is at all humanly possible whenever I journey with no matter what the destination might be.
I recall my initial trip abroad, to France. Rather than stay in a major chain hotel, or even a neighborhood hotel, I opted for a bed & breakfast. It was just a little place within Paris that permitted me to mix with people and see actual local communities where families grew up. I went downstairs in the morning to eat breakfast with the family that owned the bed & breakfast and then went about my business for the day. It was great.
I guess what I liked probably the most about that bed & breakfast is the fact that I felt like I had been at home, but in a completely different country and culture. I was around people that I truly liked and cared for as a base for venturing out, but I also got to take in all of these new experiences and points of interest that I will never forget as long as I live. It was truly the best of both worlds.
After I got back to the United States, I vowed that I would make it a point to stay in a bed & breakfast no matter where I journeyed. I made a trip to Flagstaff the year after and found it to be wonderfully charming, much more than I’d ever heard before, and I know that it had been simply because I decided not to stay in one of the hotels in Flagstaff. I seriously got to live as the locals live, and it made the trip more genuine personally.
Another great advantage of staying in a bed & breakfast is the fact that it typically is cheaper than staying in a hotel. After I made a trip to Colorado a few years back, I compared prices of the bed & breakfast to a local hotel, and found the bed & breakfast to be about three quarters of the cost of the hotel, and I had access to an entire house, including food whenever I wanted it.
