The Tallwoods of the Manning Valley

Tucked away in the beautiful Manning Valley, is Tallwoods Golf Resort and Village.

It is nestled in the beautiful Hallidays Point and is surrounded by scores of villages and beautiful coastal towns with lagoons, lakes and glorious reaches where the river meets the sea. There are the quaint and quiet inland villages that serve the farms rolling over the river flats and surrounding hills, the dramatic scenery of the mountain country and the wildlife to be glimpsed in forests.

Many families and retirees have chosen to make the ‘tree and sea change’ from over-crowded cities and have made the move to the beautiful Tallwoods Village.

As a visitor you’ll appreciate the quality of lifestyle, the beauty, the people, that make region so special.  And you will love how the Tallwoods Village surrounds the internationally recognized 18 Hole Golf Course and Club House.

Just down the road is Blackheads Beach – a sweeping beautiful coastal patrolled beach with ocean pool.

Community life is rich and convivial – with an active golf competition, craft groups and foodies enjoying the al la carte experience at the club restaurant Poppies or the brasserie Slice.

From many of the Tallwoods village homes and blocks there are sweeping and spectacular views of the coastline and forest, or more intimate outlooks over the golf course, framed by beautiful eucalypts.

This weekend I escaped Sydney with my family and stayed at the 4 ½ star self-contained villas at Verve Tallwoods. I love staying here, as does my family.

Whilst my partner and step son had golf lessons with the highly skilled Golf Pro Jeff Mendham, who is described as having the patience of a saint and a swing to die for, my daughter and I headed into the forest for a horse riding session at the Clarendon Forest Retreat.   They provide good horses and excellent, mature trainers. My daughter’s skills increased noticably throughout the ride.

The family walked the Blackheads Beach headland to discover sea-eroded volcanic caves which they called “Thunder Rock”.

We self-catered the first evening in our luxurious villa and the next evening we partook in a delicious al la carte meal at the Poppies Restaurant. The atmosphere is intimate and clearly, by the groups of Tallwoods residents, a well-patronised and appreciated experience – as good as any you would find  in Sydney.

Tallwoods – a beautiful place to escape for a long weekend or family vacation.
