The official name of Ghana is Republic of Ghana. Ghana is situated in West Africa. Ghana is surrounded by Cote d’lvoire to the west side, bordered by Burkina Faso to the north side, and bordered by Togo to the east side and bordered by Gulf og Guinea to the south side. The word of Ghana means Warrior King. The word Ghana is derived from the earliest Ghana Empire. The Ghana Empire is almost 600 miles away from north and west of the modern Ghana. The recent President of Ghana of is John Atta Mills. President John Atta Mills was also elected in 2009 with the vote difference of 40,000 between his party and the New Patriotic Party. In 2011 he again won by 2,771 votes which represent about 96.9% of total cast votes. The country of Ghana is divided in to 10 directorial regions and then these are further divided in to 170 districts. The regions of Ghana are Ashnti and the Ashnti capital name is Kumasi. The second region of Ghana is Brong Ahafo and the name of capital is Sunyani. The third region is Central and the capital name is Cape Coast.
The fourth region is Eastern and the capital name is Koforidua. The fifth region is Greater Accra and the capital name is Accra. The sixth region of Ghana is Northern and the capital name is Tamale. The seventh region of Ghana is Upper East and the capital is Bolgatanga. The eighth region of Ghana is Upper West and the capital is Wa. The ninth region of Ghana is Volta and the capital is Ho and the tenth region of Ghana is Western and the capital name is Takoradi. In 2009 Ghana is ranked 53rd slightest failed state in the world. Ghana is also the second failed state in Africa. The first failed state in Africa is Mauritius. There are ten secretarial regions which are separated in to 138 districts; every district has its own district assembly. The districts have a variety of types of councils which includes 58 town or area councils, 108 zonal councils and 626 area councils. In 1992 the Political parties become legal. The main political parties in Ghana are the National Democratic Congress, New Patriotic Party and Convention Peoples Party. The National Democratic Party of Ghana won the parliamentary elections in 1992, 1996 and 2008.
The New Patriotic party won elections in 2000 and 2004. Ghana has a very good foreign policy. Ghana has good relations with many foreign countries. Ghana is also an active member of African Union and United Nations. Diplomats and Politicians of Ghana hold strong positions in many International organizations. Kofi Annan was Secretary General of United Nations. Kofi Anann was a diplomat of Ghana. The Economy of Ghana is growing very fast. The Ghana for its economy is listed as The World’s most growing economy in 2011. The value of national currency also rises. Islam is dominant region in Ghana but also many Christian populations are living. The relation between Muslims and Christians are remarkably very good.
