Cheap Dental Implants – The Facts
Cosmetic surgery has become a big business these days with the high demand for improving one’s look. One area that people want to improve on their looks is their teeth. Dental hygiene plays an important role in maintaining a good set of teeth. However, this must be observed from the time you started to grow your teeth to prevent any premature signs of tooth or mouth problems. A poor set of teeth is also partly blamed for speech problems. Therefore, the need to have white, even teeth has led many people to opt for cheap dental implants from a dentist abroad.
This surgical procedure involves restoring any lost or damaged teeth by implanting artificial ones to make them look and work like your real teeth. This can also be a good option for those with loose dentures. Made from titanium, these synthetic tooth roots are implanted in your jawbone. Titanium is a type of metal that is safe and is well accepted by our bodies; hence, it does not cause any negative reaction. They merge with your jawbone when implanted so there is no danger that they will fall out. They also do not produce any of the disturbing sounds caused by dentures nor do they damage your bones. The best thing is you will no longer experience any tooth decay when they are implanted. However, the implant will rely on the status of your jawbone. There is a waiting time of about 3 – 6 months to allow your bones to heal so your bone can adequately support the artificial teeth. This can be shortened or lengthened depending on some factors. When they are firmly rooted, this will be followed by bracing or attaching a substitute crown into the implant.
It may seem to be an easy procedure but not every person can have a tooth implant. Some qualifications have to be met before undergoing the procedure, which are as follows:
- Missing one or more teeth
- The jawbone is already established
- You are able to tolerate bone grafting
- Your gums are strong, fit and well
- You do not have any existing disease that will hamper the healing process
- You are reluctant or incapable of having dentures
- You want to improve your manner of speaking
- You consent to go through the process which could take months
Your dentist will have to perform a rigid examination to ensure that you can tolerate the procedure. Diseases such as diabetes, osteoporosis, hemophilia and other bleeding disorders must be controlled or properly managed to avoid any complications. Aside from having a complete oral examination, your bones will have to be x-rayed to make certain they are healthy.
Local anesthesia is used in performing the procedure. You may experience some soreness once the anesthesia wears off but you can take analgesics to relieve the pain. However, this soreness is minimal and should not bother you at all. You will also be advised to have soft diet.
These implants should last up to 10 years and even longer if you follow good oral hygiene. If you worry about the price, then it might be worth looking at the cheap dental implants on offer in mainland Europe.
