Making the Most of Cheap A5 Filofax
If you have been missing a lot of appointments, having trouble keeping track of important events and deadlines, can’t find receipts because you, well, just stuff practically every piece of paper in your bag, losing track of your notes – you must know that you really, really need to start getting organized. Help could just be a Filofax A5 away. And you don’t have to spend all that much, a cheap A5 Filofax will do the trick.
An A5 Filofax is a personal organizer. A5 refers to the height and width of the personal organizer, which is 210 mm. by 148 mm. This is a great size because it is big enough to let you write comfortably and small enough to stuff in your bag.
The basic thing that you will need from an A5 Filofax is a way to organize your activities and your notes. So take some time to figure out how your day typically goes and match that to the format of your Filofax planner.
If your day is packed with appointments and deadlines, you will need a day to page format. But if you need to plan for the week ahead, you should go for the week to page format. If you want more space, you can go for the week on 2 pages format.
You can also combine these formats. For example, you first want to get an idea of how the week will go and then you want to get down to the details of each day. You can place the day to page format, put an index or tab and then place the week to page format so that you first see the weekly planner as you open the personal organizer and afterwards, you can turn the pages to get to the daily planner.
There are so many formats of planners to choose from: 1 month in 2 pages, 1 month per page, week on 2 pages, academic diary, week per page, week per page with notes, day per page and so on. You can even choose between vertical and horizontal formats.
Refills are a great way to always remain organized. There are a number of them to choose from: month, A-Z and blank indexes, to do lists, ruled notepad, jot pads, maps, computer paper, quadrille notepaper, business refills like meeting planner, expenses, finances, and phone directory refills.
Have a separate section for your “To Do” list. This way, you can just flip a page and you can immediately see what you need to do for the day.
You might want a different section for each of your lists. Your passions might be, for example, music, books, shopping and blogs and you often have “must check out” lists under these categories. You can simply create a section for each of these topics. A separate section for notes and or ideas would be great, too. This is the beauty of a Filofax: you can arrange, rearrange and customize it to suit your needs.
To help you keep track and to remain organized, you might want to try color coding the indexes. You can also do color coding if you are writing down the different schedules of different people in one weekly or monthly planner.
