Fixodent and Super Poligrip Denture Cream Lawsuits Move Closer to Trial

(1888PressRelease)  On March 31, 2010 attorneys involved in Super Poligrip/Fixodent Denture Cream litigation will appear before Judge Sandra Moss, in Philadelphia to discuss discovery issues to move the cases closer to trial

New York, NY  – On February 18, 2010, Glaxo “GSK” announced that it would stop manufacturing, marketing and advertising Super PoliGrip denture cream products containing zinc. Procter & Gamble, “PG”, which manufactures Fixodent has not followed suit.

On March 31, 2010, lawyers from around the country who have filed lawsuits on behalf of people who suffered severe neurological injuries from the use of these products will meet in Philadelphia to coordinate discovery. This is the first step in bringing these cases to trial

It is believed that more than 35 million Americans wear dentures and use denture adhesive creams such as Poligrip and Fixodent. These products have been found to contain zinc. Excessive use of these products may cause zinc poisoning. This is fairly common among people who have difficulty securing their dentures. Overuse may inadvertently expose them to dangerous levels of zinc. Zinc poisoning can cause copper depletion, resulting in serious neurological problems such as neuropathy. Neurological damage caused by denture cream zinc poisoning is not always reversible. In many cases patients are misdiagnosed by their doctors with other conditions such as:

ALS
Multiple Sclerosis
Demyelinating Syndrome:
Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP)
Guillain-Barr Syndrome

If you or one of your loved ones suffers from neuropathy or other neurological symptoms and have used Super Poligrip, Fixodent or other denture creams you are urged to contact DrugSettlement.com. Please go to www.DrugSettlement.com for more information.
