Iron fabric to make the process of creating your pants much easier.

Fold fabric. Fold the fabric horizontally and then fold it again. This should give you four layers of fabric.

Shape fabric. Take your pattern, put it on top of the folded fabric and pin the pattern to the fabric. Once the fabric is pinned, cut out the pattern. Make sure you don’t cut the outside part that is folded. You will have two pieces which will be put together to make your pants.

Sew the pants together. Sew the inseam of each of the pieces together. The inseam is the part of the pants leg that is on the inside of your leg. The outside seam of your pants should be the area that is folded. Once your inseams are finished, sew the pieces together. You will be sewing the crotch area of the pants only.

Sew inside seams together. Once you have finished sewing your pants, it’s time to touch up your sewing job. Turn the pants inside out and sew over the seams that you have already sewn. This will secure any loose pieces.

Add the drawstring. Cut your drawstring. Remember you want it to be fairly long since you will be tying your pants. Put the cut drawstring at the top of the waist of your pants. Fold the waist two times. Each fold should be approximately 1 inch. Make sure your drawstring has plenty of room to move around.

Fix the cuffs. Your pants are almost finished. You’ve probably noticed the bottoms of your pants are a little frayed. In order to finish your raver pants, you need to tidy those cuffs up. Sew them so that the bottoms are even.
