John Jefferis is a successful entrepreneur and hotel developer. He has spent his career developing a wonderful hotel that is located in the Caribbean. John Jefferis has a scheme of making the hotel aesthetically pleasing, as well as hiring great staff that will efficiently serves every guest’s needs. John Jefferis also has ventured into developing service centered locales such as the Coco Cafe. The cafe/restaurant doubles as a nightclub, and can accommodate 300 people. His achievements have led him to become the Chairman and President of the renowned Caribbean Hotel Association. His hard work was rewarded in 1989, when he received the first “Hotelier of the Year” award.
Jefferis is proud of the awards and accolades that he has earned over the years, though what really motivates him is the act of transforming dull, unused properties into spectacular hotels. His passion is truly in designing and building these hotels, and he prefers to find hotels that are in a horrible condition, then tear them down to create new structures that are amazing. After he acquired the Coco Reef Resort in Tobago, John Jefferis turned it into the Caribbean’s most successful resort. It was even voted in 1999 as the “Caribbean Resort of the Year”. He claims that his secret for success is in having a positive attitude, tenacity, and working hard.
Jefferis also states the success of his hotels and resorts does not merely come from the money invested; rather it comes from the caring and courteous attitude of the staff. He recognizes the need to have a beautiful and enticing hotel for guests to stay in, but having excellent customer service is a must for the hotel’s continual success. A luxurious looking hotel without the supreme attention to the guest’s needs will not do well, ultimately. The appearance of the hotel structure is what initially attracts guests, but top notch customer service will make them want to become regular visitors.
