And Verizon Wireless is more than willing to speed along the demise of that outdated technology by ushering in a new generation of USB based wireless network access cards, such as the Novatel USB720.
Instead of requiring PC and Mac customers to purchase a computer that has a PC Card or ExpressCard slot to connect to cellular networks, the Novatel USB720 allows Verizon Wireless customers to take advantage of the impressive CDMA-based network speeds on any newer computer. All that is needed is a USB port, a very small amount of memory on your hard drive, and practically no spare RAM. So just about any computer can use the Novatel USB720, Mac or PC.
As one of the flagship cellular network connection devices offered by Verizon Wireless, the Novatel USB720 comes with a lot of fancy bells and whistles that are sure to tempt any tech junkie. While some other comparable products are able to connect to the CDMA data network at regular speeds, the Novatel USB720 takes advantage of increased speeds, often up to as much as 800 kbps for downloads and 400 kbps uploads. Furthermore, there is a snazzy flip up antenna for better range and an LED indicator that tracks network activity for easy troubleshooting should something go wrong. For even better reception and connection speeds, the Novatel USB720 also features an external antenna connector, although the extra antenna does not come stock with the core product.
