Fine wine adds a gourmet touch to home-made meals

Fine wine could be one of the ingredients that help to make a home-made meal into a gourmet dining experience.
A report from Mintel reveals that the younger generation, aged between 17 and 34, are more likely to say they love cooking, despite being less likely to have advanced kitchen skills.
Senior analyst Fiona O’Donnell says the learning process is an important part of cooking for people who entertain guests, as it allows them to show off new skills to their peers.

“Younger cooks appear to be more interested in experimentation, with those in their 20s and 30s more likely to agree that cooking gourmet meals makes them feel sophisticated and smart,” she says.

Fine wine could enhance this feeling even further, adding a splash of something special to a carefully prepared dish.

And of course, as most recipes will only need a dash or a splash of the wine, there should be plenty left to help get conversation going among the guests around the table.

Portland Wine sells wines to suit any budget, from the everyday wine to the very best in fine wine.
