Fathers around the world don’t show a lot of emotion when it is their birthday or if you happened to forget it. Putting forth some effort towards his birthday will make him feel extremely special even thought he might not show it. You can get him almost anything because it is not that gift that counts. Mothers and fathers will usually love anything that their kids give them on special days. However, wouldn’t you prefer to do something extra special to put a smile on his face and have him glowing all day long? It really isn’t as hard as you think.
Pick his brain. What does your dad like? Does he like fixing things around the house? Get him a new set of tools. Does he like cars? Get him a car as a present for his birthday. No just kidding but if you have the money and you’re feeling generous, why not? The point here, get him something he’ll like.
Get him something you’d like him to have. Dads don’t usually blurt out what they like or give subtle hints. They just keep quiet and smile. However, there are things that your dad secretly wants. You can go ahead and ask your mom about this. Or when you go to the mall, look at the things he’s interested in. Dads are passionate about things and getting him this will make him feel like a spoiled boy again.
If he likes sports then you could buy him baseball tickets and beer coupons. If you go to the game with him, just pretend to enjoy it even if you hate it because he will love spending that time with you. This is a struggle for a lot of people but please take a few hours out of your time to make him happy on his birthday.
The biggest thing is that you put the effort in to it. You can try to come up with a present that makes his birthday special. Everyone knows that the time and effort that you put in to the present itself will be recognized and love by your father.
There are some things that your dad won’t buy for himself. These might be things like black sheets and blue bedding. Getting him home bedding is a great option because he will definitely use it. You can even find some which has his favorite car or baseball team logo on it.
