Mahindra’s exponential success in global market

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) seems very aggressive with its strategies in the global market. In step forward to position itself as a strong player in the global sports utility vehicle market, domestic auto giant has launched its much anticipated premium SUV model, XUV 500 in the global industry. Company with a hefty investment of Rs. 650 crore, the first global SUV named XUV 500 launched in the South African auto market. Car got great response from the car buyers and most enjoyable thing is that company managed to grab 200 bookings in just 10 days. The South African launch will be followed in the next six months with markets like Australia, Western Europe and Central/South America. In this countries Mahindra’s network is absent and it would use dealers of its recently acquired Korean car maker SsangYong.

It is the first global SUV which got all the ingredients after researching and taking advice from different car experts. Company has collaborated with International suppliers, tested over 250 paradigm across 2.35 million km in all weather conditions and in different parts of the world. In India the SUV has been priced very competitive to the market at Rs. 10.80 lakh. The top end variant of the car that is All wheel drive is priced at Rs. 12.88 lakh, while the two wheel drive W8 is tagged at Rs. 11.95 lakh.

The car is styled with design lines which provides a resemblance of Cheetah. The Global SUV XUV 500 comes equipped with a touchscreen multimedia system, driver information system, tyre pressure monitoring system, apart from safety features such as the hill descent/ascent control, ESP and ABS. The premium SUV is powered by a 2.2 Liter CRDi diesel engine which also powers Scorpio. The engine is so efficient that it delivers an impressive mileage of 15.1 Kmpl (With ARAI certificate).

Mahindra XUV 500 was developed at the Mahindra’s manufacturing plant in Chakan, Pune incorporating the state-of-the-art technology to place above the rest of the cars from Mahindra’s stable. Mahindra South Africa, the M&M South African subsidiary had showcased the superb SUV “XUV 500” at the Johannesburg International Motor Show. Despite of many vehicles presence in event, Mahindra XUV 500 was successful in attracting most of the customers and viewers. Company tagged XUV 500 in South Africa at ZAR 2,39,900 and ZAR 2,94,900.
