To further consolidate its long-term partnership with Gran Turismo, renowned Swiss watch manufacturer Chopard has created two new Gran Turismo XL Alfa Romeo watches-one three-hand model, and one chronograph model. This is the second time they makes special edition watches for the Italian car maker.
Basically, the new Chopard watches adopt same design solution. The chronograph model features standard three-subdials chronograph layout-the 30-minute counter at 12, the 12-hour counter at 6 and the running seconds at 9, while the three hand model has much simpler dial layout. Another difference is that the chronograph is available in two versions-one with polished stainless steel case, and the other with DLC-coated steel case.
Like most racing-car-inspired watches, the two watches have a a tachymeter scale on the bezel. The wearer can use it to caLculate the average speed.And they both sports a date window at 3’clock position. To optimize the reading of the date, a magnifying lens is fixed into the sapphire crystal that protects and enhances the legibility of the dial.
Powering these two watches is an automatic COSC-certified chronometer that is made in Switzerland and of adorable accuracy. And as a racing lover, I can not pick any flaw from their appearance, precision and overall finishing. Both models touch my soul at first sight.
The two Chopard Gran Turismo XL Alfa Romeo watches are limited to just 500 pieces. And the brand spices the dial up by providing a couple of goodies with each timepiece-a jet-black PVD-treated clock travel quartz alarm and a handsome quartz table clock in stainless steel.
