Greetings Smiles and Gestures Lead to Personal Success
The personal success of most people almost always includes an element of a good attitude and abundant appreciation.
How often do you think about the people who impact your life? You know … the ones who really make a difference in your life?
Most people appreciate the greatest acts of kindness bestowed upon them.
But, how much do we appreciate the smallest acts of kindness. We enjoy our family’s love and consideration; a pay raise; a bonus for a job well done; recognition for volunteering at your child’s school; the teacher who encouraged you in school.
But, do you ever stop and think about the people who impact your life with the smallest acts of kindness? You know the ones… those people who do not even think about their kindness. They just do it; those random acts of good that impact your life when you do not expect it.
The other day, someone asked me why I shop at “the pharmacy” when the prices are less at The-Mart. I never really thought about it before, I replied. But, my pharmacy just feels like my store. I think it’s the people though…from the pharmacist to the store manager. They always greet me when I walk in the door…”good morning, how ya doin…What can we help you with? Over time, the greetings turned in to … How’s your family? Is your daughter still dancing? I can’t even remember why they know that I have a daughter.
That’s it, the reason I shop at this store is because they make me feel like family. The simple greetings and the caring concern about my family, makes me feel good about being there. The manager even noticed which football team I follow. I tend to wear my team colors proudly. The fact that he noticed is what makes the difference. The positive and friendly attitude is a small act of kindness that has secured me as a loyal customer.
Often times, we associate how to be successful with our own major actions: a huge donation, something we accomplish publicly; landing a major account at work. But, is success really defined by the greatest acts?
Today let’s make a decision to stop and think about each act of kindness that helps us to be successful. No matter how small.
Don’t take it for granted.
Many people are born with positive attitudes But, for those who are not born with it, a positive attitude can be learned. You can develop an agenda for success just like a game plan developed for winning a sports team.
Developing your Agenda for Success
1. Start each day with positive thinking. Read a daily inspirational quote or something positive before you get out of bed. You might receive the message as an email or text. You may simply have the message posted where you can see it as you wake to begin your day.
2. Maintain a positive attitude. Remind yourself throughout the day that being positive will inspire your success and allow you to positively impact people around you.
3. Write it down. Anything worth remembering should be captured. Carry a paper or electronic agenda to manage your schedule. Consider writing your inspirational quotes down so you can remember and revisit the messages throughout the day.
4. Practice what you preach. If you want to be positive, act positively. Sure, you will have days that challenge your attitude, but set your goal for making a positive impact on your life and the lives around you. You can do it!
“Your Attitude determines your Altitude and your level of Personal Success” … is a great inspirational message for how to be successful. Your attitude can determine your level of happiness and success in life.
Having a positive attitude will increase your success and catapult you to new heights. Developing an agenda for success will make a positive impact on your own life and the lives around you.
