Make the Most of Cheap White A4 Paper
Most of us use white A4 paper almost every day. And if you will be using a lot of white a4 paper for your project, report or presentation and you have a tight budget, you might want to consider using cheap white a4 paper. I’m not saying go out and get dull, dirty white paper. You can find cheap white a4 paper that’s actually white and looks presentable enough. You just have to know how to find them.
First, you have to know enough about white a4 paper to make a sensible choice. “A4 paper” means that the paper is about 8.3 inches by 11.7 inches. This is definitely not the same as letter size paper which is 8.5 x 11 inches.
You might need your paper to be of a particular weight or thickness. So the first thing you look for is the paper’s gsm which means grams per square metre. Typical printer paper is about 80 gsm. And there are about four more gsms that are the most common. 80 gsm is for general print outs and everyday use. This is actually the standard weight or thickness for office use. 90 gsm is best for colour printing. Thicker white a4 paper, like 100 gsm and 120 gsm, are preferred for official correspondences, business letters and the like. For arts, crafts and other special projects, you might want to check out cheap white a4 paper at 160 gsm. More than 160 gsm and you have quite a thick paper. This is the kind of paper typically used for filing. Once you find the paper weight or thickness that you want, choose the least expensive option.
If you’re using an inkjet printer, you might want to look for inkjet printer paper. If you’re using a laser printer, get laser printer paper; for color photocopiers, ask the sales assistant about photocopier paper. Or you may just go for the cheap white a4 paper that will work for different types of machines. This kind of paper is also called multifunction printer paper.
There are brand name printer papers carrying the name of printer manufacturers like Xerox, HP and Canon. These brands have a range of prices that you can choose from. Or you can check out other brands and compare prices. Some office supplies superstores have paper carrying the store’s name. They are typically less expensive.
Keep these three things in mind when you buy cheap white a4 paper: 1.) the paper should be white, not dirty white or dull white; 2.) the material should be of acceptable if not high quality; and 3.) the paper should do a respectable job of holding the ink.
Ask the sales assistant if they have promos or discounts, particularly if you are buying in bulk. You can also try online stores. Several of them have great promos that help you save money. You might even win a prize. Some have offers that include free gifts. Or you can find out if they have email promos. Other online stores also have combo packs that give you great discounts. Find a reliable store that delivers on time and offers high quality products.
