WA’s hard work is paying off, but how can it get even better?

If you’re going to succeed in business you need three things: a great idea, a little bit of luck and a lot of hard working. Well, there is good news in at least one of those categories because West Australians (WA) are the hardest working people in the country.

That’s according to Premier Colin Barnett, who told Perth Now: “All the statistics show that West Australians work harder, work longer and are more productive than other parts of Australia.”
Mr Barnett pointed to the spate of studies investigating workplace behaviour and employee attitudes. WA is definitely seeing a surge in business success recently even against the general downswing in the market, and it is likely to be the hard working attitude that is driving it.

“I think WA is in an exciting time, and I thank you (WA businesses) for what you do in the business community,” said Mr Barnett “We have not lost our ‘can do’ attitude. There’s an incredible sense of pride in this state. I wish Australia had a bit more of that attitude at the moment.”

A global survey of 12,000 people by workplace solutions provider Regus showed that about half of all Australians worked more than eight hours a day and 40 per cent took work home. It shows that West Australians have a real drive to succeed, maybe more than most people in the world. That can only work in our favour.

It’s great to be able to have confidence that your staff is going to knuckle-down and get the work done. But how can WA as a whole capitalise on the hard work of its employees? Well it is all fine to know that the work will get done, but you have to be getting that work in the first place. One way that a number of businesses are finding new clients and customers is by using the services of a virtual office.

A virtual office can mean a number of different facilities, but one in particular that can help a WA business would be the mail directory service. Let’s say you’ve got a small company with a small office somewhere in WA. You can have your company address as a prestige location in Perth’s Central Business District.

It might not sound important, but having a CBD address gets you noticed and can really bring in the clients. In short it lets your small company act like a big company. That means that the small businesses can compete with the big-boys.  It’s time to make the hard work in West Australia pay off. Using a virtual office service like the mail directory can turn a hard-working company into a prosperous company.
