Installation and using of History Timeline
If you have used the previous version of this plugin or never used this plugin, extract the archive file and upload history-timeline folder to the wp-content/plugins of your website. Now activate the plugin through the plugin menu of the admin control panel.
You can copy and paste [history_timeline] code in your post, or widget content.
Limit, category and exclude are the 3 additional parameters you can specify. i.e., [history_timeline limit=10 category=12,45 exclude=12345,6432]. The output of this code is such that it will limit the result to ten, take the posts only from the categories with id 12 and 45. It will also exclude the posts with ids 12345 and 6432.
Customization of History Timeline
The Options are:
1. From within your admin panel go to, Settings > History Timeline
2.Input date format has to be selected. This format is used for tagging your posts, otherwise, the post will not show up in the history timeline.
A random post will be shown, if there are multiple posts with the same tag,. Only one post will be displayed at a time.
3.Output date format has to be selected. This is what displayed on the history timeline across the title of your post.
4. Now you can select the order in which you want your history timeline to appear in. “Lowest to highest” order will display the oldest post first.
5.You have to customize the before and after christ suffix string.
In the stylesheet, the CSS of History Timeline are edited. If the history timeline is not displaying properly, there may be problem in the theme’s CSS. To setright the problem, you add inline CSS in the plugin’s history_timeline.php file.
