Prior to her tenure in Atlanta, Ross compiled a 324-161 (.668) record in 16 seasons as an NCAA Division I head coach at Florida and Mississippi, guiding her teams to 12 NCAA Tournaments and two WNIT appearances.
Ross will be reunited with Milton-Jones, whom she coached Milton Jones at Florida and where she remains the winningest coach in school history with a 247-121 (.671) mark and nine NCAA tournament appearances over 12 seasons (1990-2002). The Gator’s best season was arguably the 1996-97 season when they reached the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament under Ross and forward Milton-Jones won the Wade Trophy as the nation’s best player.
She said her husband has blurry vision in his left eye, which doctors expect to completely heal. Auricchio has gone for a CAT scan to make sure he suffered no other injuries. He is scheduled to return to the doctor on Monday to get the test results.
“We do anticipate he’ll go back to work on time if the doctors allow,” said his wife, who added that her husband has been on family leave.
“If I know Neal, he will back as soon as he gets clearance,” Woodbridge Mayor John McCormac said on Thursday.
Neal Auricchio Jr., 30, who joined the Woodbridge Police Department in December 2007, was injured on Monday night after being attacked by three Philadelphia Flyers fans after attending the NHL’s annual Winter adidas rose 1.5 Classic, an outdoor hockey game between the New York Rangers and the Flyers in Philadelphia.
