Byron Cage is a celebrated Afro-American Gospel singer and artiste. Referred to as the “Prince of Reward” for his Reward Singing, his albums have been in the Billboard Top 10 for Gospel Songs, because it started in 2003.He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan and studied within the Oakland College in Rochester, Michigan. He additionally attended the Morehouse School in Atlanta for which he was awarded a scholarship. He’s married to Sonya Windham who is a pediatric dentist. Byron Cage became a gospel singer as a teenager and fulfilled his position as a choir director at the Greater Grace Temple in Detroit. In Atlanta, Cage joined the New Beginning Cathedral and under his persuasion the church changed the traditional type of praise and worship. He went on excursions alongside with his musical mentor Thomas Whitefield, who was a gospel star himself. For ten years he was with the New Beginning Cathedral and rose to the level of a musical director. Within the ninety’s Cage turned a Musical Minister on the Ebenezer AME Church in Maryland, Washington. In 2003 Cage launched his first album Byron Cage, which received him 4 Stellar Awards. Byron Cage has worked to change the standard gospel music to contemporary music thus widening the gospel’s attraction and reach. He has proved that reward, worship and music are past any color, cultural or traditional barrier.
