Huawei M318 Review
The Huawei M318 is a beautiful clamshell phone with an elegant black finish. It is actually the first phone from Huawei that was offered to the public by a US carrier. It is a CDMA phone operable at both the 850 and 1900 MHz frequencies. At 91 grams, this dual-band phone is lightweight as compared to other entry-level phones.
The Huawei M318 supports a number of customization features that users will love. Its graphics can be customized as necessary. It also supports customizable ringtone settings using voice-recorded rings and permits MP3 music to be set as ringtones. Assigning a ringer ID for each of the contacts in the phonebook is also possible with this phone.
It has a phonebook capacity of 500 and users can input four contact numbers plus an email address per contact name. Its calendar feature can hold up to 20 events. No one expects the phone to manage that much information into such a slim design.
One of the main features of Huawei M318 is the voice memo. The user can record a voice memo up to a maximum of 5 minutes. That is quite a long time of non-stop recording. Phone users can set each voice memo as a ringtone.
The Huawei M318 supports predictive text input for its messaging service and supports two languages, English and Spanish.
The Huawei M318 has a TFT/ TFD color LCD display with a 128 x 128 pixel resolution, which is smaller than many of the current cellphones on the market. The phone is also a bit low in color quality with only 65k or 16-bit color capacity. Still, the display has quality enough for users to play satisfying games using the BREW software.
It has an internal built-in 4.8 MB that is useful for managing its many applications. The phone uses 1xRTT technology for efficient handling of packet data. Users can also use the WAP browser software Access Netfront 3.2 to access the Internet.
Pros

Overall
The Huawei M318 is the perfect choice for ordinary customers who need a phone mainly for its basic purpose – talking. Such users will find the phone very convenient to use and won’t mind the lower quality display, although the short battery life could be an issue. Additionally, the voice memo feature in this phone is a plus point.
