Porcelain Tea Sets
Having porcelain tea sets gives you the facilities you need to provide the ultimate tea party. Tea parties are an English tradition that have transcended their culture and are now enjoyed the world over, and at the same time they are also a great way to entertain guests and do something a little different.
To provide tea parties then having porcelain tea sets is a must. This way you can have the matching set that gives the event a kitsch feeling and that makes this a visual feast too. If they are matching and you place them on a nice table cloth then this makes it into a special occasion and means you can better enjoy relaxing into a spot of tea. Furthermore though, the porcelain you will find actually ends up affecting the taste of the tea. Studies have shown that people can in fact taste the difference when drinking tea out of different mugs and cups, and a thin porcelain or china is often thought to be the best option for tasty and warm tea.
A porcelain tea set should consist of various items. First of all you need to have the tea pot and this is of course where you will keep the tea. This doesn’t always have to match the pattern on the rest of the set and often the teapot will simply be a bold white which is very traditional. Another option is to have a metal teapot – it keeps the tea hot and is used traditionally too but it doesn’t have the same aesthetic appeal as porcelain.
Next you will also need a sugar bowl and a milk jug. These are two things that people often forget as well, and it’s easy to neglect these items that are crucial to really enjoy afternoon tea. You need to be able to offer people milk and sugar, and if you want to have the best offer of all then you should also include a second sugar bowl so that you can offer white or brown.
The most important aspect of course is the tea cups and the saucers. This is what the guests will drink their tea from and this is the part that needs to be attractive and matching. Pick a pattern that you like and one that suits the mood of afternoon tea. Flower patterns are traditional and will make the best impression on guests. Make sure that the porcelain is a good thickness and helps to keep good tasting tea.
There are other things you need to consider as well if you want to have the best tea parties. Small plates for instance are a good idea as it’s quite normal to have sandwiches or scones with afternoon tea (particularly the latter) and you will need something to eat these off of. A cake stand is also a good idea to help create this vibe and this should be multi-tiered to allow you to stack the cakes, scones and sandwiches separately. Finally of course a pot for the jam is necessary and you should invest in some nicely delicate cutlery.
I love drinking a nice cup of good quality tea. Especially when it is served with some cake or other sweets using nice tea sets.
