See the World for Less
It may seem as though travelling the world will cost you a fortune. However, the reason the majority of us are under this impression is simply due to the way we usually choose to see the world. Holidays are often about opulence, comfort and convenience, leading us to fly away to far off destinations, see very little, and spend a lot.
However, by simply changing your approach and ‘travelling’ instead of ‘going on holiday’ you can see a great deal more of the world without having to give up your comfort.
Travelling implies taking a longer route to get to your destination. However, in reality it actually simply means that you will be seeing far more en route. For example, instead of flying abroad, why not take cheap ferries? Not only are there cheap ferry tickets available to mainland Europe, but also much farther afield, and you are likely to save money, meet far more people and have far more options presented to you.
When heading to Europe, there are so many ports available to use with cheap ferries crossing every day that it is possible to have quick and easy access to almost anywhere in Europe and Scandinavia at a very low cost, with the potential to see a huge amount on the way to your destination.
The idea that travelling has to be expensive is a myth that is perpetuated by travel operators wanting to make more money. In reality, the costs can be negligible, and by getting cheap ferry tickets, taking a tent with you, being willing to earn the food you eat (and the occasional lodgings), and being willing to look for free lifts or cheap busses when you are abroad, you could end up spending far less on many months away than you would by staying at home in front of the TV.
