Personal Integrity
Personal Integrity
It is a perceived consistency of actions, values, methods, measures, principles, expectations and outcome. Individuals with integrity create an organization with integrity. Personal integrity refers to this same level of consistency and congruency within a specific individual. How can an individual sales person increase their level of personal integrity? Increasing one’s personal integrity involves bringing consistency and congruency into all areas of life.
To develop integrity there are three steps a person must follow. First, he must commit to be true to himself and must be willing to know exactly what he is made of. And this self-knowledge must not be colored by his desires to be someone else or something different. The second step, self-examination, is extremely difficult, for it is quite possible that a person habitually over-rates his own powers or he habitually under-rates them. Another important aspect of integrity is having an open mind with willingness to see greatness everywhere even in the most unexpected places and in people you do not know or like.
- Unless you place a high value on this quality you will be unlikely to pay the price to develop it and preserve it over the long haul.
- Repent quickly. Admit it when you are wrong, ask forgiveness, stop doing the wrong thing.
- Ask others to help you. I have a number of people outside of my world who I meet with regularly who are able to ask me any question they want about anything in my life. Accountability is important.
character and Integrity belong to all of us. They aren’t simply traits for other people; they are traits worthy of you and me. The future is yours and it begins right now. The secret to change is within you. Change yourself and change the world.
