Avoiding High Airport Parking Rates
When you are flying on your holiday you need to think about transport to the airport as well as transport by plane itself. This means you need to decide whether you want to drive, whether you want to get a taxi, whether you want to get a limo or whether you want to use trains and other public transport. When making this decision the best decision often is to choose to drive yourself which has many advantages.
These advantages include the fact that you can completely dictate when you leave and when you arrive and that you are free to be as flexible as you like. Want to get to the airport two hours earlier than necessary to shop in duty free for a bit – then that’s your call and you can do so without someone recommending you otherwise. At the same time if you then find that you have an emergency and you need to leave a bit later, the fact that you are driving yourself means that you can do and you don’t need to worry about informing a taxi service etc. You won’t need to worry about a taxi not turning up or a connection being delayed if you drive yourself, and you will be able to go door to door to get right to where you need to be. You can enjoy having your own music and you can enjoy having the means to bring your luggage without hauling them between trains or coaches.
All this means that you will get to benefit greatly from having airport parking, and though you will pay a little more for the parking you will find its more than worth that little extra expense (and bear in mind as well that you will save money in other ways as you will only be paying for fuel otherwise… which you can split). You can also find ways to reduce your high airport parking rates. One way to do this is to decide not to park with the airport at all, but instead to look for other parking options available nearby. This might mean for instance parking on someone’s driveway, or parking at a nearby business and they might well offer much better rates even though you are only a short distance from the airport. If you decide to do this you can then save a huge amount of money on airport parking and this makes driving yourself by far the cheapest method – as well as the most convenient and comfortable.
To avoid high airport parking rates then you need to find these other parking options and this means searching online. Search for ‘parking near [insert airport]’ and that way you will be able to park wherever you need to very cheaply and still be nicely near where you need to be. Another thing you can do this way is to search online in Google Maps for the area you are going to park and that way you can find out how far away they are from the actual airport.
At most airports the most expensive parking is run by the airport. In Australia, there is an investigation about price fixing at airports. I often use this airport parking Melbourne service. I fly to Brisbane a lot for work, and also use this Brisbane airport parking because it is undercover and not expensive.
