The display of the ICF-C318  is a bright and vivid .9" green LED display screen that can be seen from across the floor. One problem that people have pointed out is the sound quality of the radio is a bit lacking. Even though the sound is quite clear through the speakers, it’s not high fidelity. However, the clock keeps precise time which is better than excellent sound quality. The time is kept by using the Li wafer battery.
