The practical benefits of Packing Light

drafted by: Keith Taylor

So, we have been receiving the trail mobile phone . twenty-four shooting locations around Asia. We’ve moved from Mongolia to China to Japan, and after six months of solid work we’ve finally settled in Bangkok for one more quarter or so.

Any photographer working together with DSLRs and other bulky gear will advise you you from the toughest tasks of your responsibilities is not to do with photography the least bit. It’s simply carrying the apparatus forced to make a great, sale-worthy shot. Buyers insist not merely on artistic excellence in photography, but also the form of technical perfection that’s impossible to create having point and shoot camera. If you wish to sell your hard work 100 % comfortable choice but to get the apparatus.

The upshot with this, surely, is that every flight I take attracts large excess baggage fees. Every journey I make involves a logistical nightmare of packing and hauling supplies. Will I need this camera to the train? Would it be safe to stow this lens through the hold, or must i take it to me? Life relating to the open road quickly gets to be more a chore rather than a joy, while some days you simply don’t need to get up.

Yesterday, though, we’re packing light. Found . head as small as Penang, Malaysia to update our Thai visas, and furthermore, as we’ve real estate base in Bangkok we’ve thought we would travel with just one bag and minimal equipment. We are leaving my large cameras in the house, as well as for once We are magnificent blissful experience of carrying my photographic equipment within my back pocket.

My gear for the trip isn’t hard. We will be going for a Canon SX200IS point and shoot, an awesome little 12MP pocket sized camera that can produce incredible shots despite its small size and relatively basic specs. Beauty of this camera is the weight: while I’m helpful to carrying half one pound of spare batteries, the Canon NB-5L battery that powers you weighs only an ounce.

I can’t explain to you how happy Personally i think regarding the probability to travel light at least. After many years of lugging 30kg of equipment from city to city, nation to nation and hotel to rundown, straight hotel it feels incredible wander around with just two pockets of it technology. Left pocket: SX200IS camera. Right pocket: two spare Canon NB-5L batteries plus a couple SD cards.

The thing is, that is what they never inform you about professional photography. They take a look at visiting exotic locations, meeting interesting people and working with folk who’re passionate about the things they’re doing, yet they never inform you about the particular continual stress of shooting. The requirement to haul heavy packs up a mountain side. The desire to fly coach invest in, and lug heavy, delicate equipment from place to place each day. It’s never simply by slotting a Canon NB-5L battery right point and shoot camera and clicking away.

So, in the week I will be shooting personally. I won’t be worrying about chromatic abberations, poor framing and optimal climatic conditions. I’m going to be sitting on the beach, watching a good looking sunset and whipping out of camera for that joy from it.

If you find yourself in need of a Canon NB-5L Battery this one is available on Amazon.com and I highly recommend it.
